About:

The Oxford Dictionary defines (OED) “stereotype” as a simplified conception or idea given special importance by certain groups. An archetype is slightly different: it is a model or ideal from which copies are made. If the stereotype is a box, usually too small, in which a woman is placed, the archetype is a pedestal, usually too high, on which society elevates her. Some archetypes can also be stereotypes, while the case is much rarer. Stereotypes have their own evolutionary cycle: They are born, grow, die or change to fit the times.
MetaFemme is an exhibition by artist Anastasija Pavić, which explores the complex relationships between female archetypes, stereotypes and their influence in contemporary cyberspace. The title of the exhibition is reflected in the performance under the same name MetaFemme, which represents the character of a female fictitious archetype that is located between imagination and reality. MetaFemme is an invitation to introspection, change and liberation from the boundaries and structures that shape our daily lives, not only in the real world, but also in the virtual spheres that we ourselves constantly create and adapt to.

The artist will perform on the opening day, Thursday, August 8 at 7 p.m
